Five days after the disappearance of 63-year-old Engjëll Kanani near the Vjosa River, near the village of Kashisht, no trace of him has been found. The incident remains a mystery, as none of his personal belongings, including his fishing gear, bag or mobile phone, have been found.

New details from the investigation reveal that the missing man's phone remained on for 24 hours after his disappearance, while his family and friend called him repeatedly, but with no answer.

The search for the 63-year-old has also extended to the Vjosa-Levan-Fier canal, which connects to the Vjosa e madhe river. Family members and his 64-year-old friend have joined the police operation and the team of divers, but so far, the search has not yielded any results.

The crime branch of the Fier police station has launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the disappearance. According to his friend's testimony, the two friends, residents of Berat, were fishing in different places in the Kashisht area on the day of the incident. He said that they had arranged to meet at a certain point, but the 63-year-old did not show up. After a few hours, when his calls went unanswered, the friend reported the disappearance to the police.

Angel Kanani, a father of three, had been fishing amateurly on the Vjosa River for three years. The search and investigation to find him continue intensively.
