Doctors sound the alarm: Headphones are deafening young people

Albanian youth are damaging their hearing and may have serious consequences in the future due to the use of headphones.

This is the alarm from doctors for young people who move around with headphones in their ears and listen to loud sounds for a long time.

"We have a new generation that uses headphones. Teenagers exposed to noise. Listening to loud music. Frequenting environments where there is a lot of noise, we hear car horns, traffic, clubs, bars, we are a population at risk. It can also be the workplace, let's say a tailor's worker, a police officer who shoots with a gun and does not protect his ears, someone who works on an airplane runway, are factors that affect hearing loss, " the doctor tells ABC News.

The motto of this year's World Hearing Awareness Day is to change mindsets and take care of your ears. But when should you seek help, according to doctors?

"In all cases where they notice that they have difficulty speaking on the phone. They have difficulty communicating without reading lips. If you talk behind them and they don't listen..."

According to doctors, hearing loss can also come with age or due to genetic causes, complications during birth, trauma, or various infections.

In some cases, the problem can be treated, while in other cases it can be managed with the use of special devices.
