"Price increases expected in September", economic expert warns

Economic expert Ergis Sefa has warned that the coming months could bring an increase in the cost of living and higher inflation, although according to him, the situation is not expected to be alarming.

According to the expert, the impact of external factors on the economy is expected to be reflected particularly in the coming months, exerting pressure on family budgets and the purchasing power of citizens.

"Tourism is one of the main sources of income that we have. As for costs and consumption, what is expected is that our salaries will not increase at a very high level, and we will have to save somehow, and this will affect the economy by slowing it down to some extent. Plus we will have a slight increase in general inflation.

In fact, we are seeing that already this month, where the BoA declared that inflation has begun to exceed the rates that were predicted last year, as a result of the effects coming from abroad.

"It's not a pretty picture that awaits us, but it's not that bleak. We will have an increase in the cost of living and that's the problem. We will have a foreign influence. This will be a greater burden for us as citizens, but I don't believe we will be in an alarming situation," the expert told A2 CNN.
