After the championship title, Bayern Munich "closes accounts" with Oliver Kahn and Brazzo
Just a few minutes after lifting the 11th consecutive trophy in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich has caused a 'shock' for the Bavarian footballers and fans
The club has parted ways with club CEO Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic or Brazzo, firing both.
Kahn, who took over in 2021 succeeding Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, will be replaced by Jan-Christian Dreesen with immediate effect, the club said in a statement.
"Jan-Christian Dreesen has done an outstanding job for FC Bayern over the past ten years. He lives FC Bayern, knows the club inside out and knows what is important here. We are very pleased that he is taking on this role. He can go to work without an adaptation period, and that is exactly what FC Bayern needs in the current situation ," said Herbert Hainer, chairman of the FC Bayern supervisory board.
Bayern beat Cologne 2-1 thanks to Jamal Musiala's 89th-minute winner and took advantage of Borussia Dortmund's 2-2 draw to win the title on goal difference.
They were knocked out of the German Cup and Champions League in the last eight despite changing managers at the end of March with Thomas Tuchel taking over from Julian Nagelsmann in a surprise move.
