The former mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici, arrested for the charge of "Passive corruption", will appear before the Court of Special Appeal on July 14, at 11:00.

The lottery has appointed judge Saida Dollani to examine Gjic's appeal for a lighter security measure.

Gjici appealed the measure of "imprisonment", through his lawyer, with the argument that the tender mentioned in the video has never been announced by the municipality of Kukës and that his client has not committed any violation of the law.

Gjici was arrested on June 24 on the charge of passive corruption, while he claimed that he did not break the law, but fell prey to a trap set by those who do not want him.

He was arrested after a video scandal, where he is seen having intimate relations with Alma Kaçi in the premises of the municipality office.

After the act, they first agree that Alma Kaçi's firm will win a project for the sterilization of dogs from the municipality.
