Attempted to violently rob three Italians, young man arrested in Durrës

A young man has been arrested by the Durrës Police after he attempted to violently rob three Italian citizens, and investigations have revealed that he was also the perpetrator of two other thefts.

As part of the operation codenamed "Provat", citizen Dorjan Abazi, 18 years old, resident of the coastal city, has been arrested. He is accused of the criminal offenses of "Theft with violence", attempted, "Theft", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Destruction of property".

"This citizen is suspected of having attempted to violently steal the personal belongings of 3 Italian citizens in the early hours of the morning in neighborhood no. 13, Durrës. Also, from the investigations, it is suspected that this citizen, on 27.04.2025, in neighborhood no. 13, broke the window of a vehicle and took some personal belongings, and on 28.04.2025, broke the window of a vehicle and took some personal belongings. Also, in connection with the investigations conducted, citizen ED, 36 years old, resident of Durrës, was prosecuted at large for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

The police say that in cooperation with the Prosecution, work continues to uncover and legally document other thefts suspected of being committed by Dorjan Abazi. The procedural materials have been referred to the Durrës Prosecution for further action.
