Sentenced to life imprisonment for several murders, Laert Haxhiu was extradited today to Albania, even after several attempts by him to escape this decision.

He has been sentenced to life imprisonment for a series of criminal offenses such as "Structured criminal group", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group", "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", "Holding without permission and manufacturing of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disturbance of public peace".

His extradition was carried out thanks to the cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Athens.

Police notification:

Laert Haxhiu, the most wanted man with a very high social risk, is extradited to Albania.

The 32-year-old, sentenced to life imprisonment for a series of criminal offenses such as: "Structured criminal group", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", "Keeping without permission and manufacture of arms, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disturbance of public peace".

Thanks to the very good cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Athens, it became possible to extradite from Greece to Albania, the citizen much wanted by Albanian justice, Laert Haxhiu, 32 years old.

The 32-year-old was brought to Kakavije, under high security measures, by the Greek Police and taken into custody in Kakavije by the "RENEA" Special Forces.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana, after:

- The Court of Lushnja, in 2017, sentenced him to 18 years of imprisonment, for the criminal offenses "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", remaining in the attempt and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition". The citizen Laert Haxhiu, on 25.09.2016, injured citizens Xh. Sh. and S. Xh.;

- The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, in 2020, sentenced him to life imprisonment, for the criminal offenses "Structured criminal group", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disturbance of public peace".
