The American congressman, Richie Torres, has spoken against the American Department of State for the positions and criticisms he has held towards Kosovo, after the tensions in the north.

Through a post on "Twitter", Torres said that Kosovo is a staunch ally of the USA, and that it was among the first countries to accept Afghan refugees.

"Kosovo is a staunch ally of the USA. When the USA needed countries to accept Afghan refugees, Kosovo was the first and among the few that accepted. It is disappointing for me and for my Albanian voters to see Secretary Blinken publicly attack an ally of the USA", he wrote, redistributing Blinken's statement. "The United States of America strongly condemned on Friday the actions of the Government of Kosovo "to forcefully enter the municipal buildings in the north of Kosovo".
