Rama's speech and indomitable optimists

By Genc Pollo

Remove the monogamous refrain Rama's speech stood out in five issues:

1- No more proud!
He did not repeat, as many times before, that "he was proud of the incinerators" and that if he was in front of the decision-making process for them "he would do the same thing a hundred times over."
Die-hard optimists want to see this as progress.

2- The escape does not enter his eyes.
He did not say a word about the avoidance of justice of Arben Ametaj, the speaker of the speech. The escape from the country of a (former) member of the government when the arrest warrant was known is the first precedent in these 32 years; or even 100 years. This event is big (and sad) news. The move of the prosecution and the vote in the Assembly were very much expected.
Die-hard optimists are likely to be somewhat disappointed.

3- Definitely save Ben's friends.
I didn't mention the name of the four socialist officials that the claim brought out personally and familially with the incinerators: a minister, the mayor of Tirana, a member of parliament (number 2 in the party) and an important director in Min. of Justice. Didn't say e.g. that we will do it like in Europe, where it is declared that in order to restore public trust in the institutions, they must leave (with dismissal, resignation or exclusion).
The indomitable optimists hope that Rama does not act without speaking, but they do not accept to bet with money.

4- Who eats money without burning trash
He did not mention the Tirana incinerator at all, which is not under sequestration and has been paid up to now with 58.5 million Euros from the State Treasury. Its "owners" continue to be paid every month nearly 1 million Euros for a service that the incinerator does not provide. This is what the Supreme State Control concludes and the whole world knows this.
The indomitable optimists are confused at this point, they hear that "the eye pours water uphill" and at the moment they do not speak up.

5- They are always to blame.
He did not utter a good word about the opposition, which for seven years has shown the problems with the incinerators and which the SPAK accusation had partially detailed. So Rama called the prosecutor's indictment useful and reliable enough to give him the vote; but he continues to consider the public idem accusations of the opposition as lies and mudslinging.
Unyielding optimists know that logic and coherence are positive human qualities, but to them it seems an excessive claim at this moment for Rama to be logical and coherent.
