Dua Lipa goes to a women's prison in England for a very special reason

In collaboration with the Booker Prize Foundation, she recently visited HMP Downview, a women's prison in Surrey, to get a first-hand look at Books Unlocked, a program created by the BPF and National Literacy to foster a culture of reading for imprisoned people.

This comes after the singer recently opened her own book club, which she promoted as part of her podcast, "Dua Lipa at Your Service".

" It was just like getting into the room and understanding the books they want to read in their time, how it makes them feel, how it's been able to help them understand different emotions and feelings, " said Dua, adding that these women inspired her and she felt privileged to have been lucky enough to visit them.

Dua's platform 'Serivce25' published a video of this visit, with Dua seeming to have received the best impressions from this visit. Dua joined the women in a conversation about their shared love of books, how reading helps build friendships and community, and how it can help prepare women for life beyond prison.
