The Italian government declared Wednesday a day of national mourning after former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi died today at the age of 86.

This day was decided after Berlusconi's funeral will take place on Wednesday at 15:00 local time, in the Cathedral of Milan at public expense.

The government announced that from today until the afternoon, flags will fly at half-mast in all public buildings and in its embassies abroad.
