Albin Kurti Wants Parliament Vote on New Kosovo Government

Kosovo prime minister-designate AlbinKurti tabled a request to the presidency of the Kosovo Parliament for the holding of the plenary session to vote on the composition of a new government, the media reported on Thursday.

It added that the vote is expected to go ahead even though Kurti and Kosovo Democratic Alliance (LDK) leader Isa Mustafa failed to reach an agreement on the new cabinet.

Vetevendosje confirmed in a press release that Kurti requested the session.

Kurti and Mustafa have met a number of times to discuss who would get which ministry and senior posts in parliament as well as support for an LDK candidate for president of Kosovo.

Vetevendosje won the most votes at October’s parliamentary elections but could not form a government without support from the LDK which came in second at the elections.

Although details haven’t been revealed, according to the media, the session will be held at 9 a.m.
