American diplomat: Washington doesn’t have a position on the outcome of

US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale visited Belgrade on Friday and Pristina on Saturday in order to see how the US can help, as he said.

Hale told reporters from several Kosovo media that the USA does not have a position on the outcome of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. He said that the outcome of the dialogue would be determined by the “people of two countries” through their leaders and “other democratic means”, and that “it is not up to the USA.”

Hale also added that in the talks both in Belgrade and Pristina no one mentioned violence, but that everyone talked about agreements and “finding a path to peace and stability”. “everything else was extremely unsettling,” concluded Hale, responding to questions the Kossev agency reported.

After the meeting between Vucic and Hale, US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott announced on his Twitter account that restarting the dialogue is no easy task, but Serbia’s future prosperity depends on achieving progress in relations with Pristina.

The twitter account of the US Embassy in Belgrade posted that the US “call for the abolishing of the tariffs, cessation of mutual provocations and continuation of the dialogue.”

After meeting with Hale, Vucic said that the Serbian state would “in a relatively short period pass measures in which it will react to the non-fulfillment of obligations from the Brussels Agreement, to the introduction of taxes, and Pristina’s decision to suspend every dialogue with Belgrade.”
