Chinese President Thanks Serbia on “Support to Preservation of Chinese

Chinese President Xi Jinping thanked Serbia’s support in the preservation of sovereignty and national security of China, it was announced on Sunday from Serbian Presidency.

Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Chen Bo delivered a letter with gratitude from the Chinese President to his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic.

Last week, Vucic supported in a letter to Chinese President the adoption of a security law which is widely seen as a threat to Hong Kong autonomy, emphasizing that Serbia “supported sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security” of China.

In the letter of the Chinese President, it was stated that “China and Serbia are consistent in mutual understanding and support in issues of vital interest and serious concerns” and that “firm mutual political trust created a firm foundation for an overall strategic partnership between China and Serbia”.

It was added that “China and Serbia support independent and autonomous policy, as well as decisive preservation of sovereignty and national security”, and they were opposed to interference from abroad.

Chinese President stated that he was paying a lot of attention to the development of Chinese and Serbian relations and that he was ready to, together with Serbian President, to put the effort in the continuous development of bilateral friendly relations and cooperation in various areas, as well as the preservation of international law and justice.
