Dutch Parliament says no to the opening of EU talks for Albania and yes for

The Dutch Parliament has voted against the opening of European Union membership talks with Albania and in favor of North Macedonia, newspapers report.

Accordingly, the relevant councils within the Dutch Parliament found that the progress report on Albania proved that the country did not fulfill the conditions set for the negotiations to open, thus calling on the Dutch government to reject the European Commission’s positive recommendation on Albania.

In their view, no tangible results had been reached in areas such as corruption and organized crime, among other things.
