The court of Fier has given the security measure "prison arrest" for Fatmir Hoxhaj, the suspected perpetrator of the murder of 50-year-old Ahmet Toska, on the morning of October 26.

Hoxhaj appeared with a mask and a hood as he climbed the court stairs, while his family members were waiting for him at the door in the form of support.

In today's session before the Court, Hoxhaj did not accept the authorship, emphasizing that he is innocent and there is no evidence for him. He stated that he woke up that morning at 8am, while the murder happened about 2 hours ago.

We recall that the serious incident took place in the "Sheq i Madh" neighborhood, around 06:00 in the morning, while Hoxhaj was escorting his wife to work.

The reasons why Hoxhaj may have shot Ahmet Toska are still unknown, however the prosecution has gathered enough evidence to send him for trial. At the time of the shooting, the perpetrator was wearing a sports hood and a COVID mask. The perpetrator came from behind and shot Ahmet Toska twice and left without saying a word.

It is learned that the author's apartment was abandoned, uncleaned and the door closed. He lived for years in Italy with his family. Few people in the neighborhood know him well, but describe him as a quiet man.

Fatmir Hoxhaj had left Albania three days after the crime, traveling towards Italy. He was arrested on November 14 at Rinas airport, while returning from Italy where he had been staying for several days.
