Grenade at a bar in France injures 12 people
A heavy attack has rocked the town of Grenoble in southeastern France, where a grenade was thrown inside a crowded bar, injuring 12 people, two of whom are in critical condition.

Witnesses said a man armed with an automatic rifle entered the premises on Wednesday evening and threw a grenade before leaving without saying a word.

Prosecutor François Touret de Courcy described the attack as an act of extreme violence, while authorities are investigating the track of a local gang clash, ruling out a terrorist act.

The incident occurred in the Olympic Village district of Grenoble, where the explosion shattered all the windows of the bar. Mayor Éric Piolle strongly condemned the attack, while Health Minister Yannick Neuder visited the wounded in hospital and expressed solidarity with the victims. French police have launched an investigation into the identification and capture of the author.
