A powerful earthquake hit central Italy this morning. Local media reports that the tremors were recorded at 7:07 a.m. and were 5.7 magnitude.

The epicenter of the earthquake was on the coast of Pesaro, while the depth was 8 kilometers. After the strong earthquake, aftershocks were also recorded, with magnitudes of 3.1, 3.4 and 4.

In the Ancona area, cracks in the walls, blocked elevators and other problems have been reported. It is not yet known if there are any injured, but the strong tremors have caused panic among the citizens.

Rail transport was suspended due to suspected damage to the tracks. The earthquake was also felt in Rome, Florence, Bologna and in the north of Italy.
