What must a city have to be considered the most livable in the world?
Vienna has been ranked as the most livable city, according to the annual index drawn up by the Economic Data Agency, a sister company of the British weekly newspaper "The Economist".
"This is the third year in a row that Vienna has been named the number one most liveable city in the world by the Economic Data Agency, meeting multiple criteria for health, culture, environment, education and infrastructure," said journalist Daniel Harper. .
The ranking compared 173 cities, taking into account 30 factors out of 100.
"When we talk about the evaluations of the agencies, I think that these studies or rankings are comprehensive and take into account factors such as green space, public transport, or infrastructure in general. And as a person who lives in Vienna I can say that it is indeed a very livable city, which works best. Vienna perfectly combines the efficiency of northern Europe with the lifestyle of southern Europe, and this style includes a high degree of entertainment. The problem is not what you can do here in the city, but what you want to do," says Nikolaus Graser, from the Vienna Tourist Board.
For residents, public transport is a big advantage, while the cost of food is considered a bit expensive.
“Food is expensive and that's the saddest thing here in Vienna that could be improved. But the best part of the city is that you can go out and stay outside, as it is a very safe city, " said one woman.
Followed by Denmark and Switzerland in the ranking, Austria enjoys another year as the most livable country in the world.
