TikTok reopens in the US after Trump's intervention

TikTok said it would restore its service to American users following the announcement of the executive order by Donald Trump.

In a statement, TikTok said the video platform would be restored after President-elect Donald Trump provided the necessary guarantees for the company's service providers.

"In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service," the platform said in a post on X.

"We thank President Trump for assuring our service providers that they will not face sanctions, providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and enabling over 7 million small businesses to thrive," he continued.

Earlier, the US president announced that he would issue an executive order to extend the ban on TikTok.

"I am asking companies not to let TikTok be shut down! I will be issuing an executive order on Monday so we can make a deal to protect our national security," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
