Veliaj's arrest, Teliti: Rama is withdrawing from justice reform

The Deputy Chairman of the Tirana Municipal Council, Dorian Teliti, says that Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor Veliaj are nervous, as they will face justice.

Speaking at MCN, Teliti said that the SPAK movement has also been influenced by political changes in the international arena.

"Apparently, the water has come to wet the feet of the majority leaders. The scheme they set up for a justice system that was seized upon in certain segments, that they used for years, especially in the last month to hit the opposition, now with the political changes in the international arena, the water is also coming to their feet. They will face justice and this has made both the prime minister and the former mayor of Tirana nervous.

The arrest of Erion Veliaj is a very positive step. Seen in the picture of the last two days, it is a positive step. Seen in a broader picture, he is not being brought to justice for the Tirana incinerator affair and the '5D' affair, nor for the National Theater. He is being brought to justice for some other expenses, definitely punishable, but in the volume of damages that he has been accused of, the least important one has been caught. Surely that is enough for the removal of the mayor . "

Commenting on the prime minister's statements, Teliti said that Rama is withdrawing from justice reform.

"Edi Rama today withdrew from the justice reform. He appealed to Albanians, give me a fourth mandate to provide justice with standards. So the justice he has provided until now has been without standards?!"
