Bardhi in Parliament: There should be a quick investigation into the scandal

The chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has requested, in the presence of Altin Duman, a motion with a debate in the Assembly and a quick investigation into the theft of IPARD II funds.

Bardhi emphasized that such investigations should not last for 5 years since the European Union requires results from the investigations.

"You ignored a request of the DP parliamentary group to develop a motion with debate regarding the findings of the EU Anticorruption Office (OLAF) regarding funds in agriculture and the need that our group has appreciated regarding the approval of a resolution that requires the establishment of a special commission to analyze the shortcomings in the legislation and make it possible to address all the necessary measures to unlock IPARD III funds for Albanian farmers.

We did not want to treat this issue as political, but all together, since the leaders of the highest institutions of justice are here, we call on the institution of justice to quickly investigate the actions related to this unimaginable scandal for a candidate country for the EU.

These are one of those investigations that cannot wait 4 or 5 years as happened with the corrupt affairs of this government, because the EU requires the results of these investigations and the country on the other hand must take measures to protect the financial interests of the EU that to make the fund of 112 million euros given to the agriculture sector in our country effective for the citizens. So please refer all the matters that have been referred to you. It is impossible not to refer to the motion with debate requested by the largest parliamentary group of the opposition", underlined Bardhi.
