The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke at an electoral meeting in Pogradec where he presented the candidates for MPs for the May 11 elections.

Berisha focused on the DP program, saying that in the first 100 days he will lower the price of oil and establish full protection for agricultural products.

The leading democrat promised to double the budget for agriculture, health, and education.

"We decide that in the first 100 days, a liter of oil will not be sold for more than the price in Macedonia or Kosovo. So, 40% cheaper oil. We establish full protection of agricultural products in season. I guarantee the farmers of Pogradec that their products will be fully protected. They will receive for every seedling planted, for every head of livestock, 5 times what they receive today in subsidies. They will receive as much as farmers in Montenegro and Serbia receive. They will have soft credit lines. They will have full coverage of damages from natural disasters. The budget for agriculture, for health, for education will be doubled. We will set the minimum living wage at 200 euros and the pension at 500 euros. But where will this money come from? These are your taxes, we will do nothing else but return your money. So our program is based on returning your money,"  said Berisha.
