On the 34th anniversary of the founding of the DP in Lezha, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, challenged the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, to a public debate.

Berisha invited Rama to a public meeting, to explain, according to him, why the state budget has only allocated 16 million euros for pensioners.

Berisha: Our DNA is a special DNA. It has values, that DNA is love for the country, for the family, respect for human dignity, respect for the freedom of others, tolerance.

We are democrats because we are tolerant. Never forget that.

If we, from the day of our founding until today, have come and are going safely towards victory, it is because we never fell into the traps of others, but remained tolerant of different opinions, of different attitudes.

And I tell you once again, never stay in a party that does not allow you to express your opinions, it is no longer a party of free people.

But we are and will be like that.

A few months separate us from election day. I guarantee you that today, victory is entirely in your hands, in your toil and sweat. But this victory requires, first of all, that just as you united with each other, we now unite in a broad front with the Albanians.

Let us join with all Albanians who believe that the emptying of Albania in these 10 years is the greatest drama in the history of the Albanian nation.

The departure of 1 million and 99 thousand Albanians from the EU alone from 2014-2023 is undoubtedly the most severe national blow that Albanians have received in any invasion or war, and this came from the drug dictatorship of Edi Rama.

Today Albania is very different from 1992, but Albania is worse in its emptiness than at any time in its existence. Today, poverty is also not a poverty with empty shops like in '92, but poverty is a poverty with the forbidden apple of full shops and it is terrifying, the shops are full, but people cannot buy.

If bread cost 60 lek in 2013, today it costs 1250 lek.

That eggs cost more than double.

That all food costs in this country from 10 to 250 percent more expensive than in Italy, Greece, or the EU average, at a time when Albanians have the lowest salaries in Europe and among the lowest in the world.

How did this happen? This happened because these governments who steal never feel sorry for the citizens, they never want to know they exist.

This year the budget was 8 billion and 200 million euros. All money collected from the taxes you pay on every glass of water you drink, on every liter of milk you buy.

This money in every free country is redistributed to citizens, with salaries, pensions, schools, hospitals, roads, other works. Can you imagine that Edi Rama left 1/512 of this budget for 780 thousand pensioners for 2025. He left 16 million euros. He left the monthly fund that the German leaves for the dogs of the house. People who have melted their lives, who have brought Albania this far, and now he treats them this way.

And I'm telling you here in front of you. You can sit and talk to yourself in the car, talk as much as you want, but let's go out into the men's square and tell each other things. Come on, give orders on television, because that's the rule.

Let's sit down with them and explain to the pensioners why the pension in Montenegro since 2013 was lower than in Albania, today it is 450 euros. How did it go? What Montenegro has, it doesn't even have 1/20th.

Come on, explain to pensioners why the pension in Macedonia is 280 percent higher than in Albania.

Why is the pension in Kosovo 30-40 percent higher than in Albania?

But why does the Prime Minister of Kosovo manage to take 100 million euros from the budget and put them in the pension fund, to increase each pension by 20%. And he leaves 16 million euros. What are these, how can you act in this way?

Can't you come out? Come on. Of course you steal. This is over.

Therefore, you will sit down with each pensioner and you must show them our contract with each one of them.
