The Laws Commission has voted on the proposal of the democratic deputy Dhurata Çupi to include Burrel Prison in the list of National Museums.

Through a post on Facebook, Çupi writes that Burrel Prison is the only political prison where many intellectual figures have been sentenced.

"With my proposal as MP for Mati, the prison of Burrel is added to the list of National Museums.

Burrel prison, the only political prison in Albania. It operated from 1946 to 1991.

The most dangerous opponents of the communist regime were imprisoned. The country's elite of that time were imprisoned in Burrel prison. Peter Arbnori,

Arshi Pipa, Bedri Blloshmi, Dom Mark Ndoja, Koco Tashko, Todi LUbonja, Sherif Merdani and many intellectuals.

Today, this proposal was voted in the Laws Committee, I hope that it will be voted on in the Parliamentary Session when it is considered" , writes Çupi.
