Joined the closed list, Doda talks about Idrizi's agreement with Berisha: We aim for 5 mandates

Joined the closed list, Doda talks about Idrizi's agreement with Berisha:

PDIU candidate Mesila Doda, listed on the opposition's closed list, under the coalition slogan "PD-Alliance for Greater Albania" for Tirana, has revealed details of the agreement between Shpëtim Idrizi and Sali Berisha.

Invited to A2 CNN, she said that the national issue and the Cham issue are the focus of their program, while explaining that initially it was agreed upon for two safe mandates, but in the end only one remained.

" The Ministry for Diaspora is a request from the PDIU. This should be one of the pillars of future political activity because you cannot accept remittances and you have no attention. The PDIU has candidates in 9 districts of the country. We had requested 2 safe mandates at the beginning, we agreed, but as it happens... Even if there were 2 mandates, Idrizi would still be on the open list. The challenge of the open list was primarily for the mayors. It makes no sense for them to be on the closed list."

Doda emphasized that the PDIU has candidates in 9 districts of the country and aims for 4-5 mandates.

" PDIU is in all regions, except Korça, Dibër and Gjirokastra, and the goal is 4-5 deputies."

Asked how Shpëtim Idrizi and Vangjel Dule are on the same front, Doda replied that the PDIU does not form a coalition with 25 parties. While making public on A2 CNN the agreement with the DP, she explained why she is in coalition with this political force, but also the positions that divide them, such as in the case of Fredi Beleri's candidacy in Himara.

"PDIU does not form a coalition with 25 parties. In every parliamentary election, PDIU has emerged in a right-wing coalition. This 4-year term has not been normal. We had a civil war within the DP, it was an unusual situation in Albanian politics. We have had a distant stance and we have faced the candidacy of Fredi Beleri and we will maintain such stances in the future. We are in a coalition that we have been in since 2021, but on issues such as the national issue, the Cham issue, the ministry for the diaspora."

Doda also emphasizes that "If the code were not like this today, I believe that every party would have chosen to compete alone. Since this code was created, it was for coalitions."

She calls the approval, after the Cham resolution, of the request for the lifting of martial law in the Greek parliament an achievement of the PDIU, where according to her the PD and SP joined the votes.

"We have talked about certain issues such as the census, the martial law that has been discussed in every studio and debate and we managed to get the left and right to vote and demand the lifting of martial law from the Greek parliament. The problem is the perception of the unusual 4-year term. This 4-year term has not been normal politics. When the largest party had the terrible crisis of representation, everything in the opposition went to serve this crisis."
