Berisha confirms: DP goes to the May 11 elections with a coalition
DP leader Sali Berisha confirmed that the Democratic Party will compete in the May 11, 2025 elections in coalition with any party that believes in "the removal of the Rama government."
"A coalition with all those political forces that believe that Edi Rama is doing the greatest harm to Albania and Albanians, who believe that the departure of 40% of Albanians to Schengen alone constitutes a true genocide against the Albanian people because it is calculated," Berisha said in 'Opinion'.
In addition to the Freedom Party, Berisha left open the possibility of a coalition with figures such as Agron Shehaj, Adriatik Lapaj or Endri Shabani. For Sali Berisha, the fundamental criterion is the overthrow of the current government, which he does not hesitate to call a "narco-state".
"I have to work 18 hours a day to compensate for that time. In those conditions, I considered how to do it...Isolating myself for a year...It hurt a lot, that was the intention. So that I wouldn't be the de-facto leader of this party," said the former prime minister.
