The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, asked for an explanation from the speaker of the parliament, Elisa Spiropali, as to why the Democratic Party was keeping secret the draft opinion of the Venice Commission on the mandate of Olta Xhaccka.

Bardhi said that the draft was communicated only to the socialist deputies, excluding the opposition groups.

"The draft was officially presented to you and in flagrant violation of your position, you have informed the SP Group, while the three opposition groups have not put the draft in a position where we have the opportunity to provide our comments before the discussions. You may not have liked it, so you have kept it hidden," said Bardhi.

Bardhi said that the delegation set up by the Assembly is only made up of SP deputies.

"For the first time in the history of the Assembly, the representative delegation in the Venice Commission consists only of deputies of the majority. This has never happened before, as there have always been representatives balanced between the majority and the opposition," said Bardhi, adding: "Have we been declared enemies of the people by the ruling party? Do you intend to declare Albania one-party?" , Bardhi added.

On the other hand, Spiropali denied the existence of an official document from the Venice Commission.

"There is no draft to share. When an official document arrives, it will be shared with all the groups," declared Spiropali, describing the accusation as speculation," said Spiropali.
