Is Meta banned from participating in the PES Congress? The Freedom Party

An email addressed to the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, circulated online today, where it is claimed that the European Socialist Party forbade his participation in the Congress.

"Dear Ilir, thank you for your interest in the PES Congress, which will be held in Berlin on October 14-15. However, as a result of your recent decision and political alliance, we ask you not to attend the Congress. The PES Congress hosts presentations from progressive parties to share their vision for European policies that are based on our core values, democracy, freedom, equality, peace and justice. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please keep in mind that it was not an easy decision" , says the e-mail that is circulating in the media.

Is Meta banned from participating in the PES Congress? The Freedom Party

The General Secretary of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, reacted by clarifying that the e-mail is disinformation from a media captured by the government and that Ilir Meta himself did not ask to be present at the Congress.

He adds that the e-mail was sent to the address of LSI, Ralf Gjon and a 'fake' address of Monika Kryemadhi.

"A flagrant, unfortunate case of how, in a marked lack of professionalism, a media caught and at the service of the government's dirty propaganda 24/24, openly misinforms by lying to the readers day in and day out, with such a stupid deception . Ilir Meta didn't even ask to be invited somewhere in Berlin, nor did he ask for any invitation because he has very important work in Albania!" , says the reaction.

The Freedom Party underlines that the e-mail that is claimed to have received a response from the European party, "was not sent to the Freedom Party address, but to the address [email protected], to the email of Ralf Gjon and the fake address of Monika Kryemadhi, which does not exist: [email protected]".
