The Freedom Party proposes the tripling of the baby benefit for every child born

The MP of the Freedom Party, Erisa Xixho, presented the proposal to triple the baby bonus.

Xixho said from the Assembly that the PL initiative aims to make the average baby bonus from 60,000 lek which is currently 180,000 lek for each child born, whether this is the first or second child.

"The draft law "On social assistance in the Republic of Albania" has arrived in the Assembly, where the amendments regarding the baby bonus are being discussed, a law which, in the context of the challenges that the Albanian family is going through today, takes on great importance, - said she.

"We have a VKM No. 288, dated 10.04.2020 for the determination of the baby bonus, which today is benefited by the parents of the newborn baby:

a) In the amount of 40,000 (forty thousand) ALL for the birth of the first baby;

b) In the amount of 80,000 (eighty thousand) ALL for the birth of the second baby;

c) In the amount of 120,000 (one hundred and twenty thousand) ALL for the birth of the third baby and the following babies;

ç) For parents who give birth to two babies born at the same time (twins), the amount of benefit will be in the amount of 80,000 (eighty thousand) ALL for each baby;

d) For parents who give birth to more than two babies born at the same time (triplets and more), the amount of benefit will be in the amount of 120,000 (one hundred and twenty thousand) ALL for each baby.

Currently, in Albania, the average bonus for a child born is 60,000 ALL.

1-Ne propozojmë trefishimin e kësaj shume në 180 000 lekë për çdo fëmijë që vjen në jetë, qoftë ky fëmija i parë apo i dytë, fëmijët binjakë apo më shumë.

2-Gjithashtu propozojmë heqjen e kategorizimit në bazë të numrit të fëmijëve. Kjo pasi kostoja financiare e rritjes së një fëmije është e njëjtë, cilido fëmijë qoftë ai.

Sot është jetike për kombin tonë të rrisim lindshmërinë duke garantuar mbështetje financiare të plotë për çdo fëmijë, ndaj kërkojmë me të drejtë unifikimin e bonusit në një vlerë të vetme.

Në bazë të përllogaritjeve tona, kostoja totale në buxhetin e shtetit brenda një viti do të jetë afërsisht 4.9 miliardë lekë. Kjo kërkesë synon që t’i përgjigjet sadopak krizës ekonomike që po kalojnë familjet shqiptare, rritjes së çmimeve të naftës dhe produkteve të shportës.

It is urgent and vital to combat depopulation and the drastic reduction in the number of births that we increase financial support for newborn children.

Before a dramatic situation, this is an affordable amount for the state budget, it is enough for citizens' taxes to benefit them and their future.

The money is there, the good will is enough to share it with the expanding Albanian families!

Therefore, I hope and wish that the government will consider this concrete proposal, which would help many young parents and their children as the greatest social interest", declared Xixho.
