PD denounces: The intentional energy crisis is "occupying" Albania!

The Democratic Party has denounced that the energy crisis is being fabricated in the country and, according to DP, it is happening in the offices of the Minister of Energy, Belinda Balluku.

The member of the National Council, Akil Kraja, said that in order to fill the shortage from domestic production, "the Ministry and the agencies under the responsibility of Minister Balluku will have to address the purchases on the stock market".

Since 2013, the word "crisis" has accompanied every abusive decision-making by the Rama government. The 2019 earthquake was the ideal excuse to cover up abuses of reconstruction funds. Covid-19 was found as justification for hundreds of secret tenders. Earlier, the environmental crisis was used as a legal and financial justification to rob hundreds of millions of euros with phantom incinerators. The next "crisis" seems to be being fabricated in the offices of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure headed by "Chief" Minister Balluku.

Is Albania heading towards an energy crisis, on purpose, as the water reserve of Fierza has gone down to the quota of 267 meters?

This quota level currently guarantees 423 million Kw/hour of energy production.

According to the regulation of the dams in the Drin cascade, the level in Lake Fierza had to be 289 meters, or 22 meters more than today's level of 267 meters.

In terms of production, today, according to the regulation of dams, Albania should have 1 billion and 106 million Kw/hour. The missing energy from the misuse of the Drin cascade is 683 million Kw/hour. A lack of energy that will cost taxpayers at least over 80 million euros.

To fill this lack of domestic production, the Ministry and the agencies under the responsibility of Minister Balluku will have to address purchases on the stock market.

But as has now become a habit, Albania sells its energy cheaply and buys it expensively. An abusive practice, which violates every established energy protocol. A practice which is at the origin of the crisis that is looming, and which will be used as an excuse for purchases worth hundreds of millions. Perhaps, even to put into operation for the next spectacle the two floating TECs of Vlora which cost 94 thousand dollars every day and which have absorbed more than 46 million dollars without being put to work for a single day.

This is the real reason why pensions in Albania do not increase. Under the excuse of successive crises, citizens' taxes go to finance vote-buying campaigns, entrepreneurial directors, and false propaganda. A daily theft in a state of permanent crisis.

This situation must end. Technical government is the only way out.
