The Advisor for Economic Affairs in DP, Dorjan Teliti, amid a reaction, has called on the Assembly of Albania to approve the opposition's proposal for the establishment of the minimum wage.  

He writes that today more than half of the population does not have the opportunity to buy the quality medicines they need, but the cheapest ones. 

The vital minimum of at least 200 euros is a national economic-social emergency.
Today, more than half of the population (pensioners, families with economic assistance and disabilities) live in misery, stress and unfortunately often with so little money in their pocket that they can consume only one meal a day.


Today, more than half of the population does not have the opportunity to buy the quality medicines they need, but the cheapest ones. Reimbursable medicines are often not even of high quality and, moreover, they are not given according to the patient's diagnosis. Today, more than half of the population does not know what it means to go to the store and buy a new garment or a pair of shoes. Today the only people smiling are the cobblers and those who sell used clothes…the only places where you see long lines of clearly sad looking people.


Since June 2023, we have presented our concrete solution, asking the Parliament to approve an hour earlier our proposal on the minimum living wage, thus taking a step as important as it is courageous, which is entirely in favor of the poorest Albanians. low income and supporting consumption and the economy as a whole. The approval of the vital minimum is the obligation of the 140 deputies of the Assembly of Albania.
