Topalli calls on the government for the diaspora: They should be allowed to vote

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, has commented on the process of registering emigrants on the portal for the May 11 elections.

Invited to Euronews Albania, she said that Albanians outside the territory of Albania have shown a high interest in voting in the elections, so the government should allow them to vote even when they do not have Albanian documents for their own reasons.

"A very significant number of Albanian citizens living abroad do not have Albanian documents for their own reasons. That is why this request has been made in parliament to give them an opportunity to vote. Even from the questions that have been asked to the CEC chairman, he has said that if this is voted on in parliament, the technical possibilities to make it possible exist. Because between the cross-checking of data and through the biometric passports that they have, identification can be made ," said Topalli.
