The political leader of the Freedom Party in Berat District, Lefter Maliqi, said that the majority has been protecting MP Olta Xhaçka for over a year.

In an interview on Ora News, Maliqi said that democracy in the country does not exist and that everything is captured by the system set up by the government.

" It's been more than a year since the majority has protected MP Xhaçka, so it was not a surprise.

It was known that they would protect her because of corrupt interests in the municipality of Himara where her husband is a strategic investor, so it is not a surprise for Albanians since everything here in Albania is captured.

We are defacto in dictatorship, democracy does not exist. The opposition continues to lag behind.

I believe and hope for a grand and sustainable protest very soon in order to demand the release of the leader of the opposition who is under political arrest by Rama's and Soros' SPAK and to demand the technical government, therefore I, as a deputy for 7 years, will I call on the PD and the united opposition to immediately start organizing a grand protest unlike any other." - said Lefter Maliqi.
