Vokshi shows the photos of Rrapaj with the former deputy minister: What positions did you hold? Businessman: I was an Italian citizen
Businessman Ilir Rrapaj testified today before the health investigative commission, where he was questioned by the president of the commission, Albana Vokshi. The session was tense, as Vokshi raised numerous questions about the role and purpose of Rrapaj's presence in important official meetings.
Vokshi asked Rrapaj, asking for clarification on his position in these meetings. She put him in trouble, asking him in what capacity he was representing the Italian side. Rrapaj replied that he was an Italian citizen and invited as a representative of the Italian Confindustria.
Vokshi asked him further, questioning the role of Konfindustria in these meetings, since it did not appear in the official documents.
EVIDENCE:
Vokshi: What positions did you have here?
In these official meetings, where agreements are discussed, only officials participate and those who have a position sit (show the photo). So, please tell me, well, in the first meeting you were invited by Konfindustria, but you had no role, and you just admitted that you had no role in the agreement. Then, why are you here, sitting in official meetings of the minister at high official levels, for a framework agreement?
Rrapaj: Madam, I am not a guest of the minister there. I am an Italian citizen, with all my functions.
Vokshi: I didn't tell the minister, I didn't mention it.
Rrapaj: Why do you mention the minister when there is a president of the region, rectors of universities and public institutions?
Vokshi: Because meetings where ministers are present are high-level meetings, that's what I'm saying.
Rrapaj: Why should I worry if it's high or low? It is an official public meeting where I have my functions delegated by the Italian institutions. I have the function of assistant to the entire entourage involved in bringing to the end the crowning of these meetings, which ends with the signature of the memorandum. This is the preparatory stage, the research stage.
Vokshi: Anyone who has been part of the administration knows that meetings where ministers are present are high-level meetings, and not everyone participates. Since you say that you are not part of the Albanian side, then, just to understand, what is your role in these high-level meetings for the Italian side? Whose representative were you?
Rrapaj: Madam, I'm sorry, I'm not just an Albanian or Italian citizen, but a representative of the Italian side, which has chosen me for this function.
Vokshi: Since you speak Italian well?
Rrapaj: Madam, I don't just speak Italian well. It is not a simple matter of mastering a language.
Vokshi: To close this part, what was your position in these meetings?
Rrapaj: I am not just a citizen, but a representative of an association, Confin Italia, which is part of Kompindustria, for medium and large Italian companies.
Vokshi: But these meetings were not with the Italian Confindustria, but with the University of Umbria and the region of Umbria. In the documents I have read, there is no mention of the Italian Confindustria. I'm not saying you're lying, but maybe it wasn't the Italian Konfindustria, but someone else, because in the minutes I have it doesn't say that he was a representative of Konfindustria.
