The new parliamentary session begins tomorrow, before

Tomorrow, the new parliamentary session begins, the last for this legislature, because 140 more deputies will be elected in the May 11 elections who will serve as legislators for the next 4 years.

No laws or agreements are expected to be approved at Monday's session. Only the Speaker of the Assembly and the leaders of the parliamentary groups are expected to speak at this meeting.

Although the Assembly is not officially dissolved, there are no committee meetings and plenary sessions during the electoral campaign period from April 11 to May 11.

According to the electoral code, from today until May 11, parliament cannot adopt laws that bring benefits to certain categories of society, such as salary or pension increases, cannot reduce taxes, and cannot approve privatizations.

According to the Constitution, this Assembly cannot issue laws during the period 60 days before the end of its mandate, during the period from July 10 to September 10.

Among the most important laws expected to be approved in the coming weeks is the amendment to the Electoral Code to facilitate the diaspora voting process.
