Rama shielded the prime minister and fled from Tirana, the opposition protest ended peacefully without any incident

Two hours of national protest with a massive participation from all over Albania started and ended peacefully on the boulevard 'Martyrs of the nation' against the government of Edi Rama.

Although the prime minister's office and the presidency of the assembly were armored a few hours before the protest, there was no incident in the national protest called by the opposition and civil society.

As seen from the videos, the protest gathered thousands of citizens of Tirana, civil society activists, coming from all regions of the country, but also immigrants from the diaspora.

Citizens filled the boulevard, while the "river" of protesters reached the "Skënderbej" square.

It lasted for two hours as long as the DP had asked for permission, while on the podium installed last night about 20 people gave speeches, 5 MPs including the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha and the head of the LSI, Monika Kryemadhi , while the rest were citizens and representatives of the causes of civil society.

Berisha's messages

The head of PD Sali Berisha was the last to speak, marking the end of the protest.

Berisha sent several messages to the head of the government Edi Rama, describing him as an enemy and that his hours in power are numbered.

Berisha called on the EU to open negotiations with Albania as soon as possible, while again opposing the Open Balkan initiative.

Beria turned to Rama, accusing him of using tenders to buy the media.

Critical MPs in protest

In addition to the citizens, the members of parliament Dhurata Çupi, Grida Duma, Jorida Tabaku, Alfred Rushaj, Dash Sula and Xelal Mziu, once supporters of Lulzim Basha, were part of the protest.
