Alarm/ Fish with parasites and meat with salmonella have entered Albania

Food safety is on alert in our country.

This is after 985 kg of salted anchovy was imported with the presence of the L3 Anisakis parasite, which poses a serious risk to human health.

This parasite can infect children and adults if they consume raw fish.

In addition to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract in some cases, the larvae can penetrate the mucous membrane of the stomach or intestines, causing complications.

At the same time, 4516.75 kg of pork fillet with the presence of Salmonella spp. bacteria was also imported.

The presence of this bacterium in the body causes diarrhea, fever, stomach pain, etc. 

It was the NFA's field inspections that discovered these 2 products with a high risk to consumer health.

According to Ora News, a request for information was sent to the AKU by a request for information, and it was revealed that 985 kg of salted mackerel was imported from Croatia and Italy, while pork fillet with salmonella was imported from Brazil.

According to Aku, salted acuge has not been put into production, but has been blocked and will be destroyed in Albania.

While regarding 4516.75 kg of pork fillet, it is announced that 2 options remain open.
