Gjirokastër/ Police officer arrested for drunk driving accident, two others

One of them, Inspector SK, was arrested after causing a road accident while driving under the influence of alcohol. The collision with another vehicle injured two people, citizen AR and a minor child, GR, who are out of danger after receiving first aid.

The alcohol test resulted positive, while the inspector faces charges of "Violation of traffic rules" and "Irregular driving."

Meanwhile, two other Border Police employees at the Kakavija Border Crossing Point, Inspector LK and Inspector OB, have been suspended from duty by decision of the First Instance Court in Gjirokastra.

They are suspected of "Abuse of Office" after investigations revealed that they allowed a "Toyota Avensis" vehicle to pass through Albanian territory without the necessary documentation, violating legal procedures and favoring trafficking.

The AMP and the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office have documented the evidence for these cases, while investigations continue to fully uncover the events.
