Border controls between Albania and Kosovo are lifted

Starting from May 1, 2025, border controls for vehicles and passengers with Kosovo and Albanian license plates will be lifted again. This decision follows the temporary suspension that entered into force on March 1.


The decision is implemented within the framework of the agreement between the Government of Kosovo and that of Albania, which provides for the free passage of citizens and vehicles of both countries without border controls.


Morina Customs is expected to begin implementing this decision in the early hours of May 1, while the border relief will remain in effect at least until September of this year.
