Wanted for 5 years in Germany, Albanian arrested in Italy

An Albanian citizen, wanted for robbery in Germany, has been arrested by Italian police in Bari. The 38-year-old, who had been wanted for five years, was caught by officers of the Flying Squad of the Bari Police Commissariat. Following investigations, a Schengen alert was issued against him and it was confirmed by the Police Cooperation Service that he was awaiting a European arrest warrant.

The Albanian citizen is accused of committing a total of 9 robberies in northern Germany, along with several accomplices, stealing items and money worth around 140 thousand euros. For this crime, he is expected to stand trial in Germany for aggravated theft.

After the arrest, the wanted person was sent to Bari prison to complete legal procedures.
