Police have arrested a wanted citizen, who is accused of causing 3 million euros in damage to the state.

19-year-old Luvjano Topi, a resident of Durrës, was arrested after the Durrës Court ordered him to be placed under arrest for the criminal offense of "Creating fraudulent schemes related to value-added tax", as part of the operation codenamed "Scheme".

During the "Scheme" operation, conducted 6 months ago, 7 citizens were identified who declared fictitious financial data of the entities they administered or where they were employed, in order to avoid tax obligations.

This criminal activity is suspected to have caused the state around 3 million euros in economic damage.

Meanwhile, efforts continue to capture other citizens wanted in the framework of this operation.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Specialists of the Durrës DVP arrested and detained citizen LT, 19 years old, resident of Durrës, who was wanted after the Durrës Court imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offense "Creating fraudulent schemes related to value added tax", within the framework of the operation coded "Scheme".

Work continues to capture other citizens wanted in the framework of this operation.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action.
