Anticorruption Commission, US Embassy in Tirana: To be transparent in accordance

The Embassy of the United States of America has requested that the work of the Special Anticorruption Commission headed by Fatmir Xhafaj be comprehensive.

In a post on Facebook, the embassy writes that the US will be engaged with the commission and expects the work to be carried out in accordance with the Constitution.

"As staunch partners of Albania's efforts to advance the necessary reforms for EU membership, the US Embassy will engage with the special commission on good governance, anti-corruption and the rule of law. We expect the work of the commission to be inclusive and transparent, in accordance with the constitution, in defense of the independence of the institutions, and to improve the future of Albania" , the statement says.
