CEC registers the "House of Freedom" coalition LSI-PDK, does not recognize Berisha with 'Re-establishment'

CEC registers the "House of Freedom" coalition LSI-PDK, does not

The Central Election Commission has registered the "House of Freedom" coalition, but has expelled from the SMI and PDK, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha with the Re-establishment Commission.

The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said that the SMI's request for a coalition is accepted, but the requests for symbols and logos that include elements of the DP are excluded, which means that the 'Re-establishment' can not be part of the coalition.

"First of all, regarding the legitimacy of the request, I can say that we are discussing this request today and the SMI has already been registered as a political party. I can not say that the DP representative has an illogical claim but there is no legal basis. I assess that the request of the SMI reviewed today to register a coalition in my assessment has full legitimacy and should be reviewed. Regarding the content, there is no request to return it for completion, as we would be in this situation if we lacked the relevant documentation. We have all the documents. We also have something more which is not in accordance with the provisions of the law. The request for some of its aspects reflects conflict with the articles of the Electoral Code with the legitimate interests of another political party. Hence the requirement to include in symbols, tha Celibashi.

The review of the request has initially brought debates between the representative of the Democratic Party, Marash Logut and that of the SMI, Altin Kaziaj.

Logu has asked to reject the request for a coalition, as it was made on behalf of the DP, adding that the Re-establishment Commission does not exist as a political entity. According to Logu, the request has elements of illegality and the reference is made to the DP as a subject with chairman Lulzim Basha and legal representatives Marash Logun and Indrit Sefa.

We have not had and we have no request for the registration of the "House of Freedom" coalition. In the request of the SMI, on the second page, it is stated that the constituent parties of the coalition are the SMI, PDK and the Re-establishment Commission. Further, it is said that the leader of the coalition is the DP represented by the Re-establishment Commission. On behalf of the DP, as it has been announced through the letter, it is clear that the chairman of the DP and the only person to submit applications for registration of entities, is Lulzim Basha. In this case, the DP does not have, has not had and will not have any requirements to be a participant, political leader or leader of a political coalition. There are also elements of illegality in the content of the request. We do not have such an entity, called the PD Re-establishment Commission. Reference is made to PD, which is registered as an electoral subject, chaired by Mr. Lulzim Basha, with representatives Mr. Marash Logu and Idrit Sefi. "None of them have agreed and requested to register as a coalition.", said Logu.

Log's statements were challenged by the SMI representative. Kaziaj said that Logu interprets the facts in his own way, denying that the request was made in illegal conditions.

"What Mr. said is not logical. Logu. He talks about legal provisions and interprets in his own way. The political directives given by him to the one who keeps the party at all costs, shielding its doors, have nothing to do with acts or characters of the law itself. Deadlines are that a request is made within certain deadlines and not outside it. In this case we have no illegality. Regarding the initial agreement, made by us with PDK and the Re-establishment Commission, I say to Mr. Log that the facts show otherwise. "We can not tell the Albanians that in a country with about 2 thousand chairs to enter 5004 delegates" , said Kaziaj.
