Yuri Kim's message with the expression of Skanderbeg

The US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, conveyed a message, using an expression of our national hero Skenderbeu, that unity makes power.

In an event focusing on women's rights, Kim said that division always brings weakness, adding that division is the weapon used by the enemy.

The ambassador appealed that citizens should not be divided into men and women, women and men or between parties, adding that this is not to their benefit.

"How many of you have heard Skanderbeg's famous saying that unity is strength. It is one of my favorite expressions. A woman's place is where she wants to be. It is nobody's place to tell a woman where she should be.

I've done as much as I've done because I've had help. I have been helped by people. Starting with my mother. It was also the men who helped me. I think that if we think about what Skenderbeu said that unity makes power, we should think that division causes weakness. This effort to create differences. To make them relevant. Our strength lies in our unity not in division. Division, division is what the enemy uses. My message is that I am proud that the US supports such an effort, supports women's efforts to decide what they want to do. It's up to you where you want to be. We will continue to support you. You decide where you want to be and what you want to do and where you want to go,"  said Yuri Kim.
