Pope Francis passes away, Catholic Church organizes Mass of Light in his honor

The Catholic Church in Albania will organize a special mass today in honor of Pope Francis, who has passed away. The ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM at St. Paul's Cathedral in Tirana and will be an act of prayer and gratitude for the life, ministry and spiritual legacy of the Holy Father.

The Mass of Light will be led by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Tirana-Durrës, His Grace Arjan Dodaj, who has invited priests, religious and all believers to join in this solemn moment to remember Pope Francis and pray for his soul.

"The God of all goodness has willed to call to Himself the Shepherd of the Universal Church. I invite you to focus your prayers and Eucharistic celebrations on his soul, thanking God for his resounding voice in proclaiming the Gospel as the radiant light of Christ, the Good Shepherd, from the See of Peter, to the whole world," Archbishop Dodaj's announcement states.

On this Easter Monday, the Catholic Church remembers with reverence and sorrow the departure from this world of Pope Francis, who for years led the Church with humility, love, and an evangelical spirit.

"The Father, the Merciful God, who in His providence gave us Pope Francis and today called him to Himself, grant him the reward of the just and us the consolation and Grace of the Holy Spirit," the announcement concludes.
