The morning of this weekend has whitened all the mountain villages in the Elbasan District, where the snowfall has covered the villages at an altitude of over 900 meters above sea level and continues with high intensity. The greatest thickness of snow was recorded in the villages of the Steblevë Administrative Unit, as well as in the villages of Qarrishte, Rrajcë and some others in this mountainous area.

Meanwhile, in the low area, precipitation is in the form of rain and temperatures have dropped significantly. The situation has been worsened by power outages in some parts of the mountain villages, which have been hit the hardest by the bad weather.

Also, the heavy rains have caused landslides and rockslides in the village of Pobrat in Elbasan, making traffic difficult on a segment of the rural road. Despite the efforts to remove the hazardous materials, the intervention has been impossible due to the continuous rainfall. This road segment has been declared unsuitable for vehicular traffic and poses a danger to pedestrians as well, as there is a risk of landslides and stones falling from heights.

For this reason, the authorities call on citizens and drivers to show extra caution to avoid any incident.
