Rina Rakipi, a civil servant at the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), has been named a finalist for the Cybersecurity Rising Star Award at the CyberScape 2025 Summit.

This award recognizes emerging leaders who are making an impact in cybersecurity through awareness, innovation, and security advancements.

Rakipi is being honored for launching CISA's Secure by Design Alert publication, which aims to eliminate software vulnerabilities and improve national cybersecurity.

With a background in international relations from Michigan State University and a Master's in Cybersecurity Policy from George Washington University, she continues to lead critical initiatives in cyber resilience.
