Journalist Ola Xama spoke about SPAK's investigations into Mayor Erion Veliaj, saying that she has seen factual documents linking him to a special unit that identified every building permit and every construction project opened in Tirana.

Invited to MCN, Xama said that these documents describe how, when an agreement was not signed with the Integrated Energy company, the Mërtir and Zoto team informed the Municipality to pursue the builders and fine them.

According to her, SPAK refuses to review this evidence.

"It seemed that SPAK's investigations regarding Mr. Veliaj's assets were intense after the controls on December 6. We see that there is a fading. But I am against investigating the individual as a name. I am always in favor of investigating corrupt acts that bring colossal damage to the taxpayers' budget.

Here I want to stop at the incinerator. The land affair in the Municipality of Tirana, in collaboration with the de jure and de facto owners, Mërtiri and Zoto, implicates the mayor of Tirana. According to confidential sources, I have seen documents that prove it, a special unit was set up to identify every building permit and every building pit that was opened in the territory of the Municipality of Tirana. When an agreement was not signed with Integrated Energy, the team of Mërtiri and Zoto, notified the Municipality to go and fine the builders.

 "Everything was organized, all the threads lead to the mayor of Tirana. It took four years. It couldn't have happened without coordination from above. SPAK refuses to see the evidence and investigate," said Xama.
