The Special Court has accepted the request of the businessman Fiqiri Faruku, changing the measure of security against him, from that of prison arrest to house arrest.

The businessman arrested in June is part of the file of the Special Prosecutor's Office for the former mayor of the Municipality of Durrës, Vangjush Dakos and other officials and former officials.

The damage that the palace suffered in 2019 during the earthquake caused SPAK to start investigations, revealing the violations, which led to the imprisonment of the former mayor Vangjush Dako and several other officials of the municipality.

The person under investigation FF, on 30.11.2023, submitted to the Court the request with the object: replacement of the insurance measure.

2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Erjon Bani, based on articles 112 and 260 of the Criminal Code, with decision No. 479, dated 04.12.2023, decided:

Acceptance of the request submitted by the defendant FF
Replacement of the personal security measure "Arrest in prison" assigned to the defendant FF with decisions No. 57, dated 06.06.2023 and No. 61 dated 08.06.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with the measure of personal security "House arrest" provided by Article 237 of the Penal Code.
The defendant FF is forced not to leave his apartment with the address: Rr. "*****", Neighborhood No. *, Palace No. ****, Floor of **, *****.
The obligation of the defendant FF not to communicate with other people except those who live with him.
The implementation and supervision of this measure should be done by judicial police officers who cover the place of residence of the person under investigation
. convicted of any other criminal offense.
The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime is charged in cooperation with the judicial police for the execution of this decision.
An appeal can be made against this decision to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within 5 (five) days, starting from the day after the announcement of this decision.
